A couple of weeks ago, I landed a box of assorted platters to put into my Lucketts space. In it were a pair of these guys:
I know, I know....this platter is not the prettiest. Even my mom, goes "I would never have thought you would have picked that up," but for some reason I liked them. I think it is the coloring. I put both of them in my space, and then took the one home. Which lead my to looking up plate wall inspiration. I have never been interested in doing one, but these got me excited:
A few days later, I am going through my cabinets picking through plates and platters that I bought over the years. I ended up with mostly ironstone. I picked up a couple of plate mounting hooks and decided to hang them in the corner of my dining room:
Dining Room space before:
I simply laid the plates I had on the floor to figure out an arrangement that I liked. I knew I wanted something simple and could edit later if I wanted to:
Then I attached few plate hangers. Now, I will say...these things are not my favorite. Close up you can see the tops of them and they are a pain in the ass. For .50 cents a piece, I will limit my complaining. I would suggest plate discs for any future plate walls. Also, I suggest not rushing. I, of course, had to do some touch up paint because I was too lazy to measure.
